Mountain Midwifery Center is proud to support these local and international giving opportunities. We believe in supporting our community locally and globally. This is how you can participate.

Virtual Food Drive

We recently started a Virtual Food Drive to help support Food Bank of the Rockies. Please help us make a difference and fight hunger. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in honor of our tenth year as the Denver area’s most experienced and compassionate birth center. Whatever you can give will be appreciated, and every dollar raised turns into four meals or five pounds of food! Thank you for your support.

Make a donation online or send donations by mail to Food Bank of the Rockies. Make checks payable to FBR and mail to:

Who Are The Hungry?
Data from Hunger in America 2014 – Local Report prepared for Food Bank of the Rockies

• FBR serves approximately 411,000 people annually.
• 34% of clients receiving food through our partner agencies are children. Adding in our Totes of Hope™ – Children, Kids Cafe and Snacks programs, children make up about half of the clients served through Food Bank of the Rockies.

Free the Girls Bra Donation

We are a used bra drop off location for Free the Girls. By partnering with established after-care facilities in Africa and South America, Free the Girls provides an opportunity for sex trafficking survivors to build their own business selling second-hand clothing while going to school, establishing a house, and caring for their families. Selling clothes allows them to work as much or as little as their school schedule permits. The women in the program receive their starting inventory as a donation, and are then able to buy additional inventory from Free The Girls for below wholesale value to help maintain their competitive edge in the marketplace. Revenue from inventory sales covers the overseas program costs so their international programs are sustainable. They work one-on-one with each budding entrepreneur in areas like inventory management, budgeting, and financial planning for future dreams and goals they want to achieve. In March 2016, we were proud to send 131 donated bras! Keep them coming. This is an ongoing collection.

Carry the Future Carrier Donation

refugee carriers
We are collecting used soft-shell structured carriers for Carry the Future. Outfit refugees with baby carriers to provide comfort and security to their family. Refugees can end up walking hundreds of miles to their asylum destinations. They desperately need a safer, more comfortable way to carry their babies and toddlers. Carry the Future is accepting new and used carrier donations, as well as financial contributions to cover the cost of sending the carriers to Europe for distribution by volunteers to refugee families. This is an ongoing collection.

Knitting Group Yarn Collection

Libby Bortz Assisted Living has a group of women that meet and knit hats and blankets for our MMC babies. They are so wonderful and always in need of yarn. If you have any extra yarn, please consider donating it for the adorable baby hats and blankets! You can drop it off here at MMC. They also love to see photos of our babies in the hats or blankets, please email us your photos.

Baby Blankets

MMC can always use clean and used baby blankets for our babies. We use them to wipe, warm, and cover baby after birth. If you have any leftover blankets, please bring them by. No fleece blankets as they melt in the warming drawers. Thanks!
